Upcoming exhibition | MilArt exhibition | MA-EC gallery in Milan

The universe must have heard me thinking there weren't enough croissants with pistachio cream in my life because it's bringing me back to Milan for another exhibit from March 1 to March 10.

This exhibit is called MilArt and will be held at the MA-EC gallery, which is not too far from the famous Duomo Cathedral, which honestly blew my mind the first time I visited the city. For this reason, the work I'll be presenting is my representation of this magnificent building, which also collides perfectly with the exhibition's theme and aims to highlight all the beauty Milan has to offer.

Like the previous event, I'll attend the vernissage on March 1, 2024. I hope you also get a moment to visit this exhibit celebrating this vibrant city through the work of 40+ talented artists, and if you do, tag me on Instagram @MissRebelCreates.

Further down, you'll find a photo of the art piece that will be exposed, along with a short text explaining the painting.

Il Duomo di Milano

Mixed paint on wrapped canvas | 70cm X 50cm

The Duomo di Milano is more than just a church; it's a story of dedication and art that took over 500 years to tell. From its first stone in 1386 to the final touches in 1965, every piece of marble and every statue has a tale.

This abstract painting pays tribute to the extraordinary efforts that went into the creation of the Duomo, as it stands as one of the world's largest churches with an impressive collection of sculptures—a veritable forest of stone with over 3,400 statues, 135 gargoyles, and 700 figures.

I think about Nicolas de Bonaventure, who started it all and gave the Duomo its gothic look with all those spiky towers and statues looking out over Milan. Despite the few centuries it took for this structure to be finalized, I hope M. Bonaventure would be proud of what his idea came to be.
